In an unfortunate turn of events the infamous Hospital Productions store in Manhattan New York has closed it’s door. The store was started by and ran by Dominick Fernow, best known for his recording project Prurient, as well as being a member of the band Cold Cave. Hospital specialized exclusively in noise, power electronics, experimental and black metal, the selection of titles offered were always of the highest quality, the majority of which were personally curated by Dominick for inclusion into the shop. We wish Dom the best of luck with the label, Prurient, Cold Cave, and to whatever new endeavors he pursues.
Shortly before the announcement to close the store Apop had the opportunity to purchase the majority of the Hospital Productions store stock. We would much prefer to have the Hospital store still be open, but are happy that we can at least provide a good home to all the cassettes, records, and cd’s that once lined the red & black walls of the Manhattan storefront.
