Still with the Black Friday?! Sheesh!

So, guess what we got from our friendly FedEx man yesterday? YEP, a healthy bouncing box of Black Friday exclusives that missed their deadline by a little under a week. Some of these items are already sold out elsewhere, so it looks like our tidy sum will go pretty fast.

Most of the items that appeared were part of a Sundazed reissue splurge, especially 7″s from classic 1960s groups such as The Yardbirds, The Lovin’ Spoonful and The Byrds, which feature original recordings or otherwise less-successful tracks from each group.

For instance, The Yardbirds’ cover of Nilsson’s  Ten Little Indians received little to nil attention from the public as it failed to successfully chart.  With uncharacteristic elements setting it apart from typical YB material such as prominent military style snare, reverse echo effects, and a brass section, it’s popularity was unlikely. Typically, the masses passed up on a true gem which, perhaps, only real YB fans and audiences from a later day could fully appreciate.

Additionally, three swell reissues of hot rod and low-brow culture pioneer Ed Roth’s goofy surf group Mr. Gasser & The Weirdos sit ahead of the counter, Rat Fink and others proudly creeping up the beaches.

We also still have a few remainders of the timely Black Friday items, such as the Wheedle’s Groove 7″ box set and that Nick Lowe 78 RPM 10″, just check our shop or click on the links!
